Let’s try this again
O.K, it has been a while since updated (believe me, I am trying to update this site) …. but here’s whassup since last update:
Zions Bancorp (ZION: 22.19 +0.63%) and XL Capital Ltd (XL: 17.73 -0.62%), which I had previously posted, sold at a loss. I was very surprise, specially with XL. I think the buying and selling high is not my niche. I should probably give a try to Timothy Sykes’ Short Stockking, because for some reason I seem to be buying stock at the point that they are going to go down! It’s sickening to say the least, but I guess I don’t do too much research on the stock, but are research really reliable now? I mean, even if the company has a good future doesn’t mean that the stock will go up, not in this market at least … so it means that we should SELL stocks (short) instead of buying. I just transferred some $ into an account I have with Trade King to try and see if I sell some puts for certain companies that I see are not going to go no where any time soon, such as Las Vegas Sands (LVS: 26.86 -0.26%) (hotel and casino). That industry isn’t doing so well right now, and having the holidays around the corner it’s no doubt it’s not going to be good for them. People do not have enough to pay off their mortgages, keep up with rent, getting laid off, and having the stock market crashing doesn’t leave room for them to go spending on casinos. I think Affiliate Summit West 09 is going to attract a little bit of business
.
Affiliate Side: One thing that I noticed, since I’m still new to the marketing thing, is that the preview page and the actual page which people are going sign up will not always be the same (probably it’s common sense, but this is the first time that seen it). So here’s my story: I saw this campaign that was offering $18/lead on first page sign up. I checked the preview page, as I do with every offer, and it didn’t have any credit card field. I said, hell, too good to be true. I ran the offer with out checking it. I was getting traffic, but no conversion. Well, you know where this is going (and if you don’t: it required credit card to sign up). Moral of the story, check the actual landing page first.
Other news: I was in Six Flags: Great Adventure and I was very disappointed. Needless to say, their stock is down a lot (@.28¢ at the time of writting) (SIX: 32.47 +0.37%) from it’s peak in 2006 of about $12/share. What was so disapointing about the park was that their parade was actually cut down, they did not do the entire show like they did every year. Also, there were very few people dressed up (job loss? pay cut?) … And one of the biggest event (in my opinion) is when they have the Haunted Forest, where you walk through a “forest” and people start jumping out of no where and try to scare you. This year, they actually charged a wopping $5 per person. I was outrage!! It has always been free!! The whole haunted forest even is wack if you go in alone (and if you don’t find those people scary), but if you go with a girl, that could be a pretty fun time (the memories
). You can defenately see the effect. Other than that, it was the first time I rode El Toro, fun ride at night! Very fast, loved it. Now there’s two favorite ride in the park! The other being Nitro.
